Welcome to Whistler Outfitters Doug.
There are a ton, thousands of miles of trails in this area, all free! Some of the best backcountry spots are best accessed by snowshoe. You can however pay for a non ski lift ticket to get you up high altitude before you hike which is preferred as most good snow is at high elevation.
