Hi, thanks for the add. I'm planning on doing the same as you this year. I'm moving from here in the UK to whistler at start of november. I have a work and travel visa valid for a year.
I'm wanting to work in a bar/restaurant for the season and am looking for somewhere to stay.
I'm flying out start of november via Montreal (hoping to catch a Canadiens hockey game).
Any advice that i find, i'll let you know.
Are you applying for jobs before you get there or waiting until you can see the place?
I can't wait!!
Jack
LOL well i can handle 20 questions i guess..... i plan on heading out there at the end of may, but i'm not going to rely on staying somewhere till i find accomadation...... my plan is to start out at one of the hotel resorts, and live in their staff housing.... i have a few friends out there who have dropped my name around a couple hotels..... i'm going to apply to one of the hotels and hook up with their staff housing.... i'm not too concerned about it.... i'm a chef, i've got post secondary education as well as about 5 years of experience...... so i'm a hot commodity out there...... staff housing is deffinately the easiest way to go to start off..... find yourself a job with a place that has it and thats a great way to get out there..... then once you are there you can take your time finding more permanent living accomodations and a job.....
at least thats my plan :p
and yeah, the chip wagon is great
